FEDERATION OF LABOUR.

MOVEMENT FOR REVIVAL (Special to Daily Tiuce.) WELLINGTON, December 2. A movement i 6 afoot, it is stated, to revive the Trades Council Federation, and it is probable that before very long the object will receive consideration by the VI elhngton Trades and Labour Council. Several years ago the Trades Council federation was a strong industrial body in New Zealand, having branches in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, Timaru, Gisborne, and Wanganui, When the executive decided to affiliate with the New Zealand Alliance of Labour, the Wellington Trades Council was the only council to affiliate, though the Dunedin Council joined later. At present neither the Auckland nor Christchurch Trades Councils are affiliated to the Alliance of Labour. It is probable that a special meeting of the Wellington Trades and Labour Council _ will be held shortly to consider the position.
