(Received Dec. 1, at 1 a.m.) The East Renfrew by-election resulted as follows: Marquis of Clydesdale (Con.) 19,653 Mr Irwin (Ind. Lab.) .. ~ .. 12,293 Mr Brown (Lib.) 4,813 The Marquis of Clydesdale is a bachelor, aged 27, and he is known as the boxing marquis. He is son and heir of the Duke of Hamilton. The Labour poll dropped nearly 5000 compared with last election. Eighty-one per cent, of the electorate voted. 1

The voting at the general election was as follows;—A. M. Macßobert (Con.) 18,487, Rev. J. Munro (Lab.) 16,924. The Labour Party executive refused to endorse the candidature of Mr Irwin.
