MR J. T. TYLDESLEY. THE ENGLISH CRICKETER. , (United Press Association.) ' (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LOND6N, November 27.' The death is announced of Mr J. T. Tyldesley, the noted Lancashire County . cricketer, at the, age of 57 years. Tyldesley represented England in no fewer than 20 test matches, and, batting 40 times, was not out once, scoring 1389 - runs yrith an average of 30,83. Hdscored three centuries in test Cricket, making 138 against Australia at Bir- . f mingham in 1002, 100 at Leeds in 1905, and 112 not out at the Oval in 1905, the last-mentioned being one of his finestexhibitions. The death is announced at the ago of 84 years of Mr John Wilson, one of ; the founders of the cement industry. MRS ANSELL-HODSON. The'death took place .on Wednesday night of a well-known resident of Dunedin in the person of Mrs Ansell-Hodson. She was for over 20 years secretary of the local Society for -the Protection of Women and Children, and was an enthusiastic, worker in that cause, her kindly nature endearing her to all those with whom, in the course of her work, she came in touch; •
