Tyldesley, the noted Lancashire County . cricketer, at the, age of 57 years. Tyldesley represented England in no fewer than 20 test matches, and, batting 40 times, was not out once, scoring 1389 - runs yrith an average of 30,83. Hdscored three centuries in test Cricket, making 138 against Australia at Bir- . f mingham in 1002, 100 at Leeds in 1905, and 112 not out at the Oval in 1905, the last-mentioned being one of his finestexhibitions.
