GORE A. AND F. ASSOCIATION

ANNUAL HORSE PARADE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) GORE, October 4. _ The . annual _ parade of- draught aud light-harness sires, under the auspices of the Gore Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on the Show Grounds today in cold and showery weather. A good deal of interest was manifested in the parade, and breeders in the Eastern District were afforded an opportunity of inspecting the sires that will be at their disposal this season. The draught horses paraded numbered seven, and al were of high-class breeding and were shown in the best of condition. Breeders in the Eastern District are very fortunate in having such a fine collection of the Clydesdale breed at ther service. In the hackney section there was also a fine display of some of what might be termed the best blood in the world to choose from, and the district is fortunate in possessing men whose enterprise has brought to., their service sires that cannot fail to improve the already high-class brefed of trotting stock in the Dominion. The pacing sire and-proved racehorse, John. Dillon, was shown in good order, while the recently-imported sires brought this country by Messrs Youngson and Jones, the well-known Riversdale stud-masters, are all horses with pacing records, that cannot fail to attract breeders. The Southland district is undoubtedly well supplied this season wth sires of high quality. Compared with ■ last year, the entries received were as follows: 1929. 1930. Draughts 5 7 Thoroughbreds. .. 1 0 Trotters 1 4 7 11 The parade state was as follows: — DRAUGHTS. _Mr John Lockie’e Sir Leslie (imp.); sire. Signet. l dam, Monica. Mr G.
