JAPAN’S RICE HARVEST

(Received Oct. 5, at 5.5 p.m.) Disastrous prosperity has overtaken the Japanese farmers and the official forecast that the rice harvest is 60,000,000 bushels in excess of last year caused a panic on the market exchange, which closed with speculators eacrificmg orders to avoid further losses.
