Arthur Rizzo, by swimming in the open sea for 68hr llmin, beat the ; endurance record of 67hr lOmin. His pulse was normal when he came out of the water. RACING IN AUSTRALIA. DISQUALIFICATIONS IMPOSED. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) BRISBANE, September 29. At the Cloncurry Turf Club’s meeting Ernest Whiting, owner, and Harold Atkinson, his assistant, also the horse Constant ’Boy, were disqualified for life for alleged improper practices. The steward reported that he saw an injection made into the horse’s shoulder with a syringe.
SPRING CANDIDATES’ ■ SYDNEY, September 29. (Received Sept. 29, at 10 p.m.) There wag a rather large crop of casualties among prominent spring candidates, especially New Zealand horses, Sargon and Veilmond each bruised a foot last week, First Sight is lame, and his Epsom prospects are unfavourable Waterline has minor foot trouble, Eaglet has “roken down, and Inevitable bled after Tne Hawksbury Handicap on Saturday. A decision will shortly be reached about the pensioning off of Limerick, and whether Concentrate will go to Melbourne will be decided after the Metropolitan Handicap.
