DISPUTE IN RESTAURANT. PROPRIETOR'S WIFE STRUCK. (Peb United Pbww AssocunoiM WELLINGTON, September 20. William Moore, aged 26, a tunfleller, was convicted and fined £5 by Mr T. 33. M'Neill, S.M., on a charge of assaulting Bessie Durant. The story was that Durant, who is a restaurant proprietor, ordered some men out, as they were creating a disturbance. The accused waß one of them, and as he went down the 6tairs he struck Mrs Durant, who had followed to Bee that they did not come back. Durant gave evidence of having seen his wife struck twice. The accused denied being in the restaurant at any time other than that on, which he wbb taken there for the purposes of identification. 1 t
