MR FORBES IN CANADA
MUTUAL FAITH IN COMMERCE. HUGE TRADE. INCREASES. (United Press Association.) ■ . (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) VANCOUVER, September 12, . The need of mutual faith in commerce, particularly between the members of the British Commonwealth of Nations, was emphasised by Mr Forbes (New Zealand) when addressing the Canadian Club on Friday. ,He reminded tos hearers that , Canada’s trade to New Zealand had increased from less than 12.000. dollars in 1026 to more than 23.000. dollars in 1929, while New Zealand’s >£rade to Canada had increased from .6,000,000 dollars to J 6,000,000 dollars. He saidWe have great hopes that this increase willoontinue. However, there has. been-a change in your fiscal policy, which may affect trade between lis. We /had hoped, by sending you large supplies of butter, that we might build up that balance which we buy from you. I have high hopes that my. discussions with the Prime Minister of Canada will lead lis to an agreement which will be mutually beneficial.. We hope to have some exports we may extend to you.” ' /
