GUN CLUBS’ ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Gun Clubs’ Association was held in Christchurch on Monday night. Dr W. H. Simpson (South Island vice-president) occupied the chair. The annual report stated that the affiliated clubs were to be congratulated on the smooth working of the association during the year. Donations since 1929 amounted to £8 8s .6d, on account of the Dobson memorial fund, and the, expenditure consisted of £SO for the memorial stone, £25 15s 6d being handed to Miss Dobson. Apart from those amounts, the recipts exceeded the expenditure by £ls 12s lOd, and it was a matter •lor congratulation that the _ association- could continue in prosperity, regardless of the general trade depression existing throughout the Do l minion. The chairman congratulated the association on its continued progress, stating that six more clubs had been formed. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows; —President, Mr E. Groome (reelected) ; vice-presidents—North Island, Mr H. A. Belk; South Island, Dr W. H. Simpson; council: North Island Executive —Messrs C. Scddon, N. D. Stubbs, T. Y. Morrin, R. Knight, and J. Donnelly; South Island Executive —Messrs J. Skilling, R. S. Taylor, G. E. Turner, R, Arnst, and Dr Cooke; referees—South Island, Mr L. A.' Shand; North Island, Mr A. Robottdm; bon. auditor, Mr W. R. Heney; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. N. Turner. The following programme for 1931 was adopted by vote:—New Zealand Championships, in clays, pigeons, and sparrows, Hamilton. North, Island championships, clays) Napier and East Coast Gun Club; sparrows and pigeons, Hawke’s Bay and Central Gun Club. South Island, clays and sparrows, Christchurch Gun Club; pigeons, North Canterbury Gun Club. It was decided, on the motion of Mr E. F. Stead, that the allocation of the Taranaki clay championship should he left to the North Island Executive.

It wqs agreed that in future the sums for island championships should be not less than £25.
