CROP PROSPECTS FOR SEASON. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, August 11. The Department of Agriculture announces to-day that the drought and the hot weather in July decreased the crop prospects in the United States by 7 per cent. The 1830 wheat crop for all varieties is estimated at 820,613,000 bushels. It is estimated that all the wheat grown in 1929 was 806,000,000 bushels. For the winter' wheat this season the forecast is 597,382,000 bushels. The condition on July 18 was 93.4 per cent, of normal. The average per acre is 15.5 bushels. Durum wheat will average 48,290,000 bushels. The condition is 67.5 per cent. The other spring wheat is estimated at 174,931,000 ‘ bushels. The condition is 60.7 per cent. THE CANADIAN CROP, METHOD OP FINANCING. OTTAWA, August 12. (Received August 12, at 11.30 p.m.) It is understood that a method of financing the 1930 wheat crop has been arranged at a conference of the Premiers of the prairie provinces and prominent bankers. Last year’s carryover is not involved. Details of the plan have not been announced.
