YESTERDAY’S PROCEEDINGS. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. ’.{Abridged from Press Association Telegram.) WELLINGTON, August 11. The House of Representatives met at 8.30 this afternoon. ’ LATE SIB JOSEPH WARD. The Speaker (Sir Charles. Statham) read a letter from Sir Cyril Ward expressing grateful appreciation bf the message conveying the House's sympathy with the relatives of Sir Joseph Ward and appreciation of the services of the late Prime Minister to New Zealand. IMPERIAL AFFAIRS. The remainder of the afternoon session was devoted to a - debate on Imperial affairs, a full report of which appears elsewhere. THE CUSTOMS BILL. • Replying to Mr Coates, the Prime Minister said the Customs Amendment Bill would be brought down to-morrow evening. ,The House rose at 11.48 p.m.
