The inhabitants of Peshawar are spending anxious days owing to the menace of the raiding Afridis growing ever nearer. Devout Moslems are praying for the success of the British and Indian troops. The main body of the Afridis, estimated at 10,000, is encamped in the Bara Valley, 12 miles from the city.
