FOR THE TROUSSEAU.

Every bride wants one or two dainty boudoir ''caps. The pretty one described here is most original and becoming in shape, and it will coat you only about two shillings to make. From three-quarters of a yard of white or pale-coloured voile cut a 20in square. At the centre of one edge mark an llin strip with pins. Cut at the pin marks' for 3in straight towards the centre and fold back the. strip to form the front band. Pencil zigzags on this, and embroider them in a twinkling by laying six-stranded embroidery cotton over the_ outlines and couching it down. , Turn in a very narrow hem all round the rest of the cap and couch it with a single straight line. Cut three-quarters of a yard of narrow ribbon in half and sew one piece to each end of the front band. These tie behind the head, and hold the cap firmly in place when worn. ~ —i
