FORTNIGHTLY MEETING.. The fortnightly meeting of the St. Kilda ‘Borough Council was held last night, and was httended by the Mayor .'(Mr J. Beattie), Cra Conn, Fleming, Roy, Gillam, Glue, Baird, Longworth,. Smiley, Leary, and Telfer. - , - The secretary of .the, Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage>Board, wrote as to do account for'£9 175.-5 d for raising, manhole covers in Queen's drive. With reference to the council’s statement 'that, the work had been done, without its authority he gave details. It was essential to. have the sewer in Queen’s drive cleaned out without delay, as a quantity of sand had-found •its way into the pipe. .He re-submitted the application for payment.—lt ' was pointed out that the board owed the council for. certain matters, which fact had been ignored, and that if the acj count was to oe paid the - board should also , pay what wqs due. to the council. —It was also remarked .that the borßugb contributed to the board’s funds and that the bordugh-was entitled to get some idea as to -where the money went; to.—lt‘ was 1 agreed ;'to pay the amount, application to be made to the board for the payment, of what was ‘due to the council.
