PACIFIC CLUB’S ROAD RACE. The Pacific Club staged a successful road race from Parkside to Allanton and back_ on Saturday, an excellent field of 25 riders facing the starter (Mr 0. A. Lucas). G. Hetherington (12min) aoon overtook the limit men (13min), and set a pace which eventually carried him home a winner by three-quarters of a minute. At Allanton Hetherington was followed by Cockerill and Annison, and . the scratch men had overtaken Beale (IJmin), Templeton, and Taylor (Bmin). On the run home Stokes had the misfortune to puncture, and F. Beale took cramp. M'Connell, Stinson, and Duncan were riding well at this stage, and after a good sprint M'Connell shaded Stinson and Duncan for second place. Smith (scr) registered fastest time. Results:— Q. Hetherington (Pacific) 1, P. M‘Oonnell (0.A.0.0.) 2, H. Stinson (0.A.C.0.) 8, R. Duncan (0.A.C.C.) 4, B. Thomas (0.A.0.C.) 6, T. Dillon (Pacific) 6. Fastest time, G. Smith (Ihr 14min XOsec) ; second fastest, G. Forward (Ihr 14min 10 1-Csec).
