TRAGEDY IN FIJI
: WOMAN BLOWN TO PIECES. EXPLOSIVES IN MOTOR CAR. (United Press' Association.) (By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) SUVA, June 17. . A; shooting tragedy occurred at the Nasinn stone crusher 'last evening. Mr Sabben, a Government, mechanical engineer, with his wife, arrived with explosives and stores in a car. . Mr Sabben left the cal, and.a minute or two later there was an awful explosion. Mr Elliott, the man age. of the stone crusher, was - approaching ti car, and both be and Mr Sabben were flung, to' the ground, but escaped serious injury. The ground - was covered with tiny pieces of flesh and bone, and Mrs Sabben’s mangled head and the upper part of her; shoulders were found throe chains away over a creek. Some of her clothing was wrapped "round the windscreen some yards away. The car contained 501 b of gelignite, 200 detonators, and a quantity of benzine. Her two feet, cut off at the ankle, were found 60 yards away. Mrs Sabben was the daughter of a Woolwich leather manager. The cause of the - explosion is a mystery.
