CONFECTIONER’S SHOP ROBBED. 1 NOTHING OF VALUE LEFT. (Special .to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND. June 17. Goods to the value of £25 were stolen from the small confectioner’s shop - of Mrs Henderson, Dominion road terminus, when burglars broke into the shop last night. It was the fourth time the place had been broken into. The door ha‘d ocen forced by a jemmy. Goods were scattered in all directions. Chocolate fish and liars of chocolate had been tossed on the floor, and all that remained were a few jars of 'sweets one tin of , tobacco, a; packet of cigarette papers, and a few odd bare of chocolate. The thieves had made a clean sweep. Tins containing packets' of cigarettes had been opened-'and *. the packets stolen. Tins of tobacco and even matches.were taken. Sweets of all kinds, and bottles of soft drinks were also missing. Nearly all the new stock,, which had been 1 delivered yesterday, was stolen. The tobacco taken was valued at £ls. ■ "They.-have‘cleaned me out- properly this lime," said Mrs Henderson. “What they couldn't take away they have destroyed,”: she said, as she pointed to. the broken bars of chocolate lying all -over the shelves and the, floor. The sum of 7s 6d in coppers, was taken out of the till. Two years ago Mrs Henderson’s son hid himself in the shop, and when the door was forced by burglars he waited till the men were inside.
