At Winchester, Indiana, four people were killed and 20 injured when a .racing car on a speedway crashed into the grand stand. The pilot’s wife was awaiting the landing of the aeroplane to go aloft and make a parachute jump. * A fishing boat, with 60 passengers, ran into heavy weather off Santa Monica, listed, and capsized. It is reported that 10 were drowned. Darkness made difficult the task of accounting for the passengers. An aviator was killed at the Mount Vernon (Illinois) fair grounds. He carried three parachutes, intending to use them consecutively. Two failed to, open and the third became entangled. '
