The police, during the raid, collected 122 bottles of various kinds of liquor, two 36-gallon casks, four 18-gallon and* two 10-gallon casks .of'wine. ■ ' v •' Counsel for the' defence objected to the manner in which the analysis was made. The,, analysis of a bottle taken from a man who had visited Unclee’s showed 7.5 per . cent, of proof spirit. It was contended that, the bottles had been taken from the many and kept for several days before being sent to the analysis. Counsel also contended that the quantity seized was not an unreasonable stock for private use. " A constable, who had watched the homfe from the cover of the lupins, said he saw . Uncles give a man, named - - Hansen two bottles and Hansen give Uncles something from his pocket in exchange. Hansen and Uncles both maintained that the bottles were a gift.
