An idea of police activity against motorists in England is revealed by the fact that motorists . paid over '£200,000 in fines last year. Over 250,000 motorists were summoned, and in addition 69,000 were cautioned. Among the offences were the following!:—Manslaughter 74, drunkenness 1730, and reckless driving 27,000. More than 23,000 .were summoned fop exceeding the speed limit.
