DEAD BODY IN CAR
BOTTLE WITH, POISON , ALONGSIDE. 1 ' (Peb United Press Association.) > NAPIER, June 16.' The Hawke’s Bay Herald’s Taupo corrspondeut telegraphs stating that a grey Dodge car bearing the number 31663 was found drawn up bn the roadside a mile from Taupo on the Wairakei road this niorniug x with the dead body of a man lying on the back seat. A public works roadman passed the car shortly after 7 a.m. About 9.30 he was informed by a passer-by that the car was still there, and accordingly returned. Concluding the occupant was dead, he reported. the matter to Constable Brown at Taupo. The car, a closed one, appeared to be in good order, and with the body was removed to the police station. In the back of the car was found an empty whisky bottle and a glass and a small bottle with the usual style of chemist’s label bearing the word “poison.” The bottle was threequarters empty. A driver’s license found on the deceased had been issued on May 22 by the Thames Borough Council, and bore the name of Robert Kirk, with the address Pollen street, Thames. The body appears to be that of a man aged about 32, but has not yet been identified.
