THE WAIST-LINE VIOLETS.
Artificial flowers are well in again (says a Londoner). In the summer and spring seasons they are usually dropped. This must be because there are plenty of flowers everywhere, and we can do without the made ones, but directly the Q&rlc days corue we want additional touches of beauty, so *we grasp at any adornments § we may; J In the frock world it ,is roses that are first favourites. They arc used quite a lot. iwo very lovely gowns at a dress parade stood out because of the lovely artificial roses which trimmed them. One frock of thick silk’ taffetas has damask velvet rosea across the back arranged like a bustle, the other, of silky stout black net, had one black velvet and one red velvet rose on the side of the bodice between the waist and the armSmall flat flowers, like pink, white, or green eilk and velvet gardenias, make one slmulder strap of a frock, the other strap being a slender jewelled strip of material bmee wo have returned to tuck-ifi blouses and waist skirts the rather charming idea of tucking a little posy into the skirt ton or the belt has come back. A bunch of deep mauvy-wine violets looked just right in the waist of a fitted black ve vet skirt, into which was tucked a little blouse of very supple gold lame.
