MISS JOHNSON AT RANGOON. REPAIRS TO PLANE COMPLETED. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RANGOON, May 15. After repairs had been effected, Miss Johnson’s plane was brought at Insein to the Rangoon racecourse shortly before dusk, Miss Johnson intends making a test flight at 7 o’clock in the morning, after which she will leave for Bangkok before 10 o’clock. Though she is still worried by disappointment in failing in the object of her flight owing to the loss of two days caused by the mishap, she is now more cheerful. She is also hopeful of successfully completing the rest of the journey. READY FOR NEXT HOP. RANGOON, May 10. (Received May 16, at 9 p.m.) Miss Johnson made a test flight early this morning, which was very successful. She hovered over the racecourse and rose 1200 feet. She stated that the repairs were all good, and she would be leaving between 9 and 10 o’clock for Bangkok. The weather locally is bright. DEPARTURE FOR BANGKOK, RANGOON, May 10. (Received May 10, at II p.m.) Miss Johnson departed for Bangkok at 10.30 in heavy rain, but the wind was not strong. Locally the weather suddenly became worse after 9 o’clock. MR HINKLER’S INTENTIONS. NO FURTHER ATTEMPT. ! LONDON, May 15. Mr Hinkler stated that there was no foundation for the story that he intends to fly to Australia.

Miss Johnson, who has named her Moth aeroplane “Jason’s Quest,” left Croydon on May 5, and her flight to Rangoon occupied nine days. From there she is to proceed via Bangkok, Tapping, Singapore, Batavia, Sourabaya, Atamboea, and Darwin. Her Australian itinerary will - be from Darwin through Central Queensland to Sydney, refuelling at Camooweal and Charleville. Mr Bert Hinkler’s .flight to Darwin in February, 1828, was accomplished in 15J days, or 126 actual flying hours. His flight to Singapore took 13 days. Miss Johnson’s record to date is;— May s—Left Croydan and arrived Vienna. May 6—Arrived Constantinople. May 7 —Arrived Aleppo. May B—Arrived Bagdad, May 9—Arrived Bunder Abbas. May 10—Arrived Karachi. May 11—Arrived Allahabad. May 12—Arrived Calcutta. May 13—Arrived 'lnseiu (near *Rangoon).
