Heavy damage was caused in the south coast district during the week-end by torrential rains, which flooded the watercourses, sweeping away several bridges, flooding farms, and causing landslides. At Bald Knob 13in fell in 24 hours. The Great Northern road is impassable, the river being 7ft over the bridges at Mooloolah. The Obi Valley is flooded, aiu the bridge over the Obi River has been swept away. The water there is the highest for 30 years. Telephone posts and fencing have been washed away. A cloudburst at Sandy Creek caused much damage to crops aud business premises.
