Adams found it hard -to get in close, Hughes propping him off with a i? 1 , 06 le , •,. -“dams adopted a crouch, winch made him a rather awkward target, but Hughes outboxedhim and won-easily. Adames best weapon was a straight left the throat and head, and he showed little variety in his ■ punching. Hughes was clever on his feet, and his left’was a good weapon. He also employed a nice right uppercut at times, and a left hook to the body almost invariably found its mark. He showed variety in attack, and although his eye was opened early in the piece it did not trouble him much. The decision was well received, and was the only one possible.
