OTAGO RUGBY LEAGUE.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. The meeting of the executive of the Otago Rugby Football League was held jast night. The president (Mr T. M. Gillies) occupied the chair. It was decided that the junior match between Christian Brothers and Pacific, which was set down for last Saturday, be awarded to the former club by default. The president reported that he had interviewed the Reserves Committee of the City Council with reference to a playing area in the north end of the city. He stated that there was no chance of retaining the pavilion on the North Ground. He had been very well received by the committee, and as a result of his representations the league had been offered the full use of a ground and a room in the pavilion on Logan Park for training purposes on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and for matches on Saturday.—The chairman’s action was approved. Mr Ferguson, one of the Otago delegates on the New Zealand Rugby. League, wrote stating that there was a likelihood of the Sydney University Club visiting New Zealand .later in the season. He stated that the_ Northland League was making great strides and had a big following now. The prospects in Auckland seemed to be very bright.—Received. A report wag brought down from the special executive meeting which had been called to deal with the laying out of the playing area at the Stadium. It stated that power had been given to the Finance Committee to have the ground drained, levelled, and sown down in grass, so that it would be ready for the playing season 9f 1931. Suitable conveniences and dressing accommodation would be erected at the pit end of the Stadium. DRAW FOR SATURDAY. The following is the draw for Saturday’s matches:— Senior.—City v. Christian Brothers, on the Caledonian Ground, at 3 p.m (referee. Mr F. Percy); Athletic v. Pacific, on the Oval, at 3 p.m. (Mr F. Sims); Koitangata, a bye. Junior.—Christian Brothers v. Athletic, on the Caledonian Ground, at 1.30 p.m. (Mr Vial); Pacific v, Kaikorai, on .the Oval, at 1.30 p.m. (Mr Whitty).
