AQUATIC CARNIVAL.

i Record entries have been received for the swimming and diving carnival which will be held at the Municipal Baths tomorrow night. Among visitors from Invercargill will be P. M'Grath (Southlands very promising intermediate), Miss Nancy Basstian, G. Skelton, Miss S. Murdoch (Southland ladies’ diving champion), and A. Kingsland. The swimming events have drawn the best entries for any carnival yet held in Dunedin, and the 33 1-3 Yards ,Electric Handicap will be contested by something like 30 swimmers.. The 100 Yards and 100 Yards Breast-stroke Handicaps have also drawn exceptional entries, and one of the big attractions of the evening will bo the exhibition of diving by R. C, Calder and E, E. Walker. All the local champions will be competing against some 10 of Southland’s best swimmers, and the interprovincial handicaps are likely to produce keen rivalry and_ spirited racing. N. H. Bailey, S. M‘Kenzie, R. Nuttall, V. Fletcher, E. Turgis, Miss M. Mathieson, H. D. Gillies will be contesting the 100 Yards, and some thrilling finishes are assured. A humorous item will be given by P. A. Mathieson, R. C. Calder. and H E Walker.
