, When the King lay at death’s door last year. Nurse Catherine Black, a gentle Irish girl, by ,her devoted service, helped to nurse him back to health. Nurse Black’s quiet, cheerful manner did much to restore the King to health, and for that reason she was afterwards invited by the Queen to accompany the Royal Family to Sandringham.- She was, in.fact, the only one of the four nurses who attended the King who was with him from the beginning of his illness to his convalescence.
