CALL TO REV. MR HERRON. WORK IN AUCKLAND APPRECIATED. , (Special xo Daily Tikes.) AUCKLAND. May 7. A well-attended meeting of Sf. David’* Church congregation to consider the position arising from the call made to its minister (the Rev. D. C. Herron) by Knox Church, Dunedin, was hold to-night. In a resolution expressing appreciation of the services rendered by Mr Herron during his ministry of more than ten years reference was made to the fact that 620-persons had joined the membership of the church during that period. The roll number bad increased from 454 to 584, and every department of church work was in a flourishing condition. Mr Herron had filled an important place in the city by his dealing with social, moral, and religious questions, and had been much in denland as a speaker at young people’s gatherings. While regretting the prospect of losing Mr Herron, the congregation decided to place no obstacle in. his way.
