GIANT AIRSHIPS
BRITISH AND GERMAN. MOORING AT CARDINGTON. (British Official Wireless.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY, April 23. (Received April 25, at 5,5 p.m.) Two- of the biggest airships in the world, the British RIOO and the German Graf Zeppelin, will probably be seen side by side at Cardington, near Bedford, on Saturday. The Zeppelin is coming to Cardington to pick up Dr Eckener, her commander, who arrived in England today from America. She will arrive on Saturday afternoon and stay about an hour. A large party, numbering 600 or 700 men, and drawn mainly from the Royal Air Force, will handle the Zeppelin to the mooring mast. The RIOO will he brought from her shed to the mooring mast to-night if the weather conditions are suitable, and she may make a flight of 10 or 12 hours to-morrow. Once she has been brought out it is unlikely that the RIOO will return to her shed until after her trip across the Atlantic to Canada next month. New engines of a later type have recently been fitted in the RIOO, and these, as well as the envelope and the wireless installation, will be under special observation during the flight. This will be the sixth flight of the R 10 0; and there will probably be others before she leaves for Caaadn. The course for to-morrow’s flight will be decided accord ' ing to the direction of the wind.
