RUGBY FOOTBALL.

Rugby patrons are looking forward with a great deal of interest to the 1930 season, the coming visit of the British team is no doubt being largely responsible for this. Two very interesting matches will ho played at Carisbrook this afternoon. At 1.30 the University A team will meet Alhambra. The students can always be relied upon to provide bright, open football, while the Alhambra are also expected to give a good account of themselves this season and their supporters are confident that the Red and Blacks will prove a tough proposition. At 3 p.m. Kaikorai will meet Southern. The Kaikorai is considered to be a better team than it was last season, while Southern have been considerably strengthened by the inclusion of four leading players from the University Club. At Tahuna Pirates will meet Dunedin. At Montecillo the University B will meet Zingari, and on the North Ground Taieri and Union will meet.
