CONCERT AT PATEAROA.
Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather a record crowd from all paits of the Mnniototo Plain gathered at the Patearoa Hall on Friday night to attend a concert in aid of the Patearoa School funds. The hall was packed to the doors, and about £4O will accrue to the school funds as a result. Great credit is due to the organisers and to the performers, some 20 in number. The following is the programme: —Opening chorus, ‘ How Ho You Do, Everybody? song, Alice Blue Gown” (Miss Dorothy Dagg), encore, “ Looking at the World ‘ Old Black Joe.” Mr W. Gibson with banjo accompaniment; “Misery Farm.” Mr F. Weir; “ Because I Was Shy.” Mr R. Duncan, encore, “ A Little Irish Girl The Desert Song,” Mr D. Dowling, encore, ‘ Bab, Bab. Babbling Brook quartet, “My Bonnie”—Mrs Davidson, Miss Heilihy, J. O’Neill and P. Duncan; song, company, “Carry Me Back To Old Virginy”; recitation. Master K. Cambridge; song, “ Come to the Fair,” Mr R. Carr; duct. “ Sympathy,” Miss Dagg and Mr Dowling; encore. “If You’re In Love You'll Waltz”; song. “My Old Kentucky Home.” Mr I. Mathias; “ Down in the Cane Break” —Messrs Weir, Mathias. H. M'Skimming, Gibson, and R. M’Skimniing; song, “Love Time in Hawaii/ Miss Dagg, encore, “ Hawaiian Memories”; part song. “Aloha Oe”; finale, company. Mrs A. Keegan was a very efficient accompanist, Mr H. Law assisting at the violin. After the concert a very successful dance was held.
