PROFESSOR SPEIGHT’S RESIGNATION. LECTURER IN GEOLOGY TO BE APPOINTED. q (Peb United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 31. Professor Speight has resigned from the chair of geology at Canterbury College and will in future devote all nis time to the duties of curator of the Canterbury- Museum, which now occupy part ot hia time. , Professor Speight has been for 40 years in the service of the Canterbury College Board.’ He was master in the Boys High School till 1903, when he was appointed-, lecturer in geology. Later ne was given the full professorial rank. Inc Canterbury College Board to-day decided not to appoint a professor in geology, but a full-time lecturer at a salary of £6OO a year.
