Senator Brookhart (Republican, Iowa) to-day called upon the United States Farm Board to co-operate with the Canadian wheat pool in opposition to Britain, France, and Italy. He said he believed that a combination of the three European nations against United States wheat growers was in operation. BACK ON EVEN KEEL, NEW YORK, March 12. The strong support which has bequ credited to the Farm Board and eastern interests brought the Chicago wheat market back on a fairly even keel, when it appeared that wheat prices were heading for collapse. The majority of the. losses sustained early in the session were recovered before the close, but before the reaction set in July and September futures hit new low levels for the season. Wheat closed: March, 105 J cents per bushel; May, 109|; July, 1034; September, 105 J. LOWEST POINT FOR YEARS, OTTAWA, March 12. A report from Winnipeg states that wheat broke to-day to the lowest point for six years. May wheat sold at only 1J cents above the dollar, but closed at 1043 cents per bushel. Cash wheat reached 98g cents. LONDON MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, .Ltd,, has received the following cablegram from its London house, dated March 12;— The butter and cheese markets are quiet. Quotations are; Butter, New Zealand choicest salted, 140 s to 141 s; cheese, white and coloured, 83s to 85s. AUSTRALIAN - MARKETS. (United Press. Association.)
