ARBITRATION COURT.
PRINTING TRADES’ DISPUTE. (Peb United Press Association.) ■ WELLINGTON, March 12. Before the Arbitration Court in the related printing trades’ case evidence was Kirai ia support of the employers’ ease. The court reserved its decision. Ihe court then commenced hearin" the application of the Federated Newspaper 1 ropnetprs Association and the Master I nnters Association for a new award in respect to the Federated Typographical Association. The claims of the employers were more particularly directed toward essential amendments in pieceworkers’ conditions and t 0 a -return to the piecework rates obtaining in the 1925 award Evidence was given in support of the employers case, and Mr Ryrie addressed the court on behalf of the employees, contending that the industry was a profitable one, w.iicli could afford the improved wages and conditions asked for. ~ He made a comparison between the New Zcaland votes and those in Australia and Great Britain. Tiie court adjourned until to-morrow morning.
