SYDNEY, March 6. —Sailed: Aorangi (6.15 p.m.), for Auckland. ■» The Progress sailed yesterday for Wanganui, via ports. The Waiplata sailed yesterday tor Bluff. She Is set down to return on Sunday. The John l3j due here this morning from Wellington and she Is set down to sail this evening for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington. Wanganui and New Plymouth. The Waltemata arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday morning from Bluff and went into dock for cleaning and painting. fihe Is timed to sail to-morrow for Wellington. The Opihi, which Is loading at Westport for Bluff . and Dunedin, should arrive here on Tuesday and is set down to sail on Wednesday for Nelson and New Plymouth, via ports. The Kaltoke Is to leave Auckland to-day for Dunedin, via ports and is due here next Thursday. CASE OIL CARGO. The Shell Oil Company's coastal tanker Paua is timed to arrive at Dunedin early this morning to discharge case oil. The vessel will sail for Oamaru on Sunday or Monday. KAIMIRO FROM HOBART. The Union Company’s steamer Kalmlro arrived at Dunedin yesterday morning from Hobart direct with South Australian cargo. The vessel Is timed to sail again for Lyttelton, Wellington - and Auckland this morning to complete discharge. ARGYLLSHIRE’S DEPASTURE. The Argyllshire, after being delayed by had weather, is now timed to sail next Wednesday for London, via Panama. O TRANSPACIFIC CARGO SERVICE. The Union Steam Ship Company advises that the Waiotapu, which is now loading at Pacific coast ports, will include Dunedin as a port of cal). The vessel is expected to clear Ocean Falls on March 10 and to leave Los Angeles on March 20 for Papeete, Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, Melbourne and Sydney, he is due at Auckland on April 19. TAIROA’S ITINERARY. The Talroa, which left Liverpool last Saturday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin, Is due at Auckland on April 8 and at Dunedin on April 25. -o» RABANGA’S ITINERARY. The National Mortgage and Agency Company advises that the Baranga will now leave Wellington to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin. The vessel is due here on Tuesday and Is timed to sail on Thursday for Oamaru, Walkokopu, Picton, Wellington and Bluff. From the last port, she will return to Dunedin on April 6 and wilt sail finally on April 10 ler London, via Montevideo. CANADIAN EXPLORER REPORTED. The Canadian Explorer, eh'route from Halifax, reports that she was expected to arrive at Auckland yesterday morning. She is due at Wellington about a week later, and proceeds to Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin, to complete discharge.

• THE MAHANA. The Shaw, Saviil and Albion steamer Mahana Is reported .to have reached Panama last Friday, en route from Napier to London. She sailed from. Napier on February e, lONIC LEAVES SOUTHAMPTON. The liner lonic, from London, left Southampton last Friday afternoon for Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and Bluff. She Is due at, Wellington on April 7 to load her passengers only, and will leave again later the same day for Lyttelton to commence discharge. HAURAKI’S SMART VOYAGE. After making her fastest trip across the Pacific, the Union Company’s motor ship Hauraki arrived at Auckland at mid-day last Friday from Los Angeles, with over 13,000 tons of cargo from Pacific ports. The vessel completed loading at Los Angeles and sailed for Auckland on February 8. Fine weather was experienced on the voyage. The steaming time between the two ports was 19 days 7 hours 26 minutes, and from wharf to wharf the time was 19 days 9 hours 27 minutes. The average speed was 12.24 knots, and the last day’s run was 326 miles In 24 hours. It was the fastest. day’s run the vessel has ever done. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. The Marine Department advises that the dates of the alteration of the Leading Beacons lights, and the installation of the West Head light, in the eastern entrance of Tory Channel, Cook Strait; have been postponed. From March 1 the existing fixed lights of the Leading Beacons lights are to be altered to automatic occulting, as follows: Front, occulting with one eclipse every .6 second, thus—light ,3see, eclipse .3scc; rear, occulting with cine eclipse every two seconds, thus—light Isec, eclipse Isec. Towards the end of next month, on the summit of West Head, at the western side of the eastern entrance to Tory Channel, there will be installed an automatic group flashing light, showing two flashes every 20sec, thus — flash Isec, eclipse 1 sec, flash Isec, eclipse 17sec. NORTHUMBERLAND IN PORT. With a large cargo of general merchandise from west coast -ports of Great Britain, the Federal Line steamer Northumberland arrived yesterday to complete discharge. The cargo was loaded at Newport, Glasgow and Liverpool. The Northumberland sailed from Liverpool on January 4> and experienced boisterous conditions during tlie first few days from port. Afterwards the weather.was generally fine until nearing the New Zealand coast. The vessel was then delayed for nearly 24 hours by thick weather and heavy rainstorms, it being necessary to heave-to off Cuvier Island on Fridayevening until Saturday to wait for the conditions to clear. The Northumberland is utilised as a training ship and carries 33 cadets. Captain H. L. Upton is in command, and he has with him the following officers:— Chief, Mr J. S. Oxnard; second, Mr F. Kenny; third, Mr R. Miller; fourth, Mr R. Stephens: chief engineer. Mr J. Dick; second, Mr J. Kemp; third. Mr C. Griffiths; fourth, Mr B. Niven; fifth, Mr J. Manning; sixth, Mr C. The Huddart, Parker Company’s intercolonial steamer Ullmaroa arrived at Wellington on Tuesday from Sydney and berthed at about 9 o'clock at No. 1, north. Mr D. E. Richards Is rejoining the Aorangi as junior third officer after holidays, vice Mr J. Watling, who has been appointed senior third officer. Mr A. P. Train has joined the Tahiti as third' enginer, relieving Mr E. M. Denby for holidays. Mr G. Watt has rejoined ihe Wahine as third engineer after holiday leave. Mr D. H.
