Construction work is about to begin on a building in the centre of New York which will be of the stupendous height of one statute mile. Costing, it is estimated £ls 000,000, the building will be equipped with an aeroplane landing field on the top. A tower of 50 storeys will rise from a base of graduated cubes. Office accommodation in the building will house 50,000 persons, more than the total population of a large-sized town in England like Chester.
