VISITING RUNNERS IN ACTION. A NOTABLE EXHIBITION. (Peb United Pbess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, February 26. The final appearance of Leo Lermond and George Golding, the visiting amateur athletes, in Christchurch this evening at English Park was marked by further sensational racing. The track was very fast, and the evening was fine. The visitors competed in invitation handicaps of 440 yards for Golding and 880 yards for Lermond, and won both in fast times. Lermond won the halfmile by five yards in Imin 57 3-ssec, and in the quarter-mile Golding ran brilliantly, winning by 12 yards in 50 l-ssec. Lermond also ran in the mile, but could not catch J. G. Barnes, Christchurch (15yds), who won in 4min 26sec.
