USE MORE WOOL
PROSPECTS OF CAMPAIGN. RESEARCH DIRECTOR’S ADVICE. (united Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, February 22. ( (Received Feb,j23, at 5.6 p.m.) “ The use more wool campaign will not (materially assist the industry unless the vagaries of fashion are also met by methods of production and utilisation founded on the same bases as those of its synthetic rivals, namely, full knowledge of the scientific fundamentals of the fibre itself,” states Dr G. Barker. Thus diversity of effects and enhancement of the variety of products for meeting the market demands will become possible. Wool is the finest possible material for body clothing. It is light, has ten Sile strength, and creates heat in itself when wetted. -British manufacturers can, through scientific investigation, link up with their Dominion colleges and exploit wool perhaps on entirely new lines, leading to an assured future.” Dr Barker is Director of Research for the British Research Association for the Woollen and Worsted Industries.
