EIGHT-OARED CONTEST. To-morrow evening (water, permitting) the public will have ah opportunity of seeing the eight-oar crews m action. A crew from the lower harbour will meet a crew from the upper harbour over a course of two miles, starting off Waverley and finishing between the Rattray and Birch street wharves. From these two crews tha selectors will pick the eight to represent Otago at the New Zealand interprovineial championship to be held at Auckland on March 22, On the form shown at Auckland the New Zealand selectors will pick a crew to send to Canada next August at the invitation of the Empire Games Committee, Canada, which has offered a big inducement to a crew from New Zealand.
