Wheat: Cargoes are steady, sellers asking 6d to 9d advance, with buyers holding off. Parcels are firm at 3d to 9d dearer, and there is small business doing OAMARU STOCK REPORT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) OAMARU, February 22. The stock market is firm for all classes offering with the exception in the case of store sheep, which show a substantial reduction on those recorded at the same period of last year. Fat cattle continue to sell well, more porticularly well finished light-weight heifers and steers, the offerings of these being just sufficient for local requirements.. Pat sheep are offering freely, the yardings being heavy. Light-weight wethers and ewes suitable for freezing are keenly competed for up to schedule rates, while heavy wethers and heavy ewes are not making comparative , values.
