Wilkie, Ltd., were fortunate in having such , a beautiful day fey their picnic at Taieri Mouth on Saturday, Cor- • poration buses conveyed the party to the : snorts ground, and after luncheon the children's races' were run on the beach ■ Each child was presented with a bag of sweets and a toy, and a liberal supply of fruit was handed to everybody. The . picnickers were, then free to enjoy themselves as they wished, nearly all availing themselves of the opportunity of a bathe in the surf. Others enjoyed a trip up the river -in a launch hired for the purpose,, and several tried their - luck with rod and line. The committee which had charge of the arrangeinent deserves every - credit for 'providing such an excellent outing. .
