THE EGYPTIAN TARIFF
PROVISIONAL IN CHARACTER. SUGGESTIONS FROM BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric’ Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY, February-19. In the House of Commons Mr 6. M. Gillett (secretary to the Overseas Trade Department) stated that the Government had notified the Egyptian Government that it accepted the new Customs tariff, hut it had drawn the attention of the Egyptian Government to a few items in the tariff which appeared to call for reconsideration. The tariff was provisional in character and further suggestions would he made to the Egyptian Government, if the experience of its working showed such action to be desirable.
