OTAGO YACHT CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Club was held on Wednesday evening, Commodore C. W. Sundstrmn presiding. The question of holding outboard motor boat races was the principal business discussed. It was reported that several boat owners would be absent on the dates already agreed upon to hold the races, and it was resolved that the events be postponed, and that the question of selecting suitable dates and drawing up the syllabus be left in the hands of Mr P, Drummond, who will confer with the Sailing Committee. The question of the silting up of the boat harbour was left in the hands of the commodore to make further in-* quiries. The matter of the rules for motor boat racing, mentioned in a letter from Mr B. H. Nees, was further discussed.— It was finally resolved to leave the matter in the hands of the commodore, who will interview Mr Nees. Feeling reference was made by the commodore to the loss Dr Moody had substained by the death of his wife.— A motion of sympathy with Dr Moody was passed, those present standing for a few seconds as a mark of respect. Several complaints have been received in connection with boat owners using the club’s premists as a dumping ground for rubbish, and also using the punt for mooring their boats. —The commodore pointed out * that some of the members were blaming the caretaker for not attending to these affairs. He wished to state that the caretaker was employed to safeguard the club’s property and to attend to members’ boats when in time of danger, and also to give a helping hand when necessary, but it was not his duty to clean up after careless owners.—lt was decided that offending members be written to informing them that the club will take any action thought necessary to stop tactics which are believed to be unfair to the other members of the chib.
