PICNICS.
WHXTCOMBE AND TOMBS, LTD. A very successful picnic was held by the employees of Messrs Wfaitcombe and Tombs, Ltd,, at Mr Leishman’s property, Whare Flat, on Saturday. About 175 people spent a pleasant outing at this picturesque spotr The greatest attraction for the children was the free gift of toys, fruit, and sweets. An energetic committee, with Mr Waugh as chairman, drew up an excellent sports programme, which resulted as follows: Girls’ Race (10 to 14 years).—Phyllis Johnston 1, Jean M‘Glusky 2, Katherine M'Glusky 3. Factory, the *■' team proved Co be the winners. ihe prizes were presented by Mr J Wilson, who, before tile conclusion of the days outing, in a short speech, thanked tbe management, donors of prizes, and Mr Leishman.
