KILLED ON HARVEST FIELD. (Peb United Press Association.) CAMBRIDGE, January 21. A tragic happening occurred in the Kaipaki district, eight miles from Cambridge at 10.30 this morning, when a young man named John A. Goodwin, aged 19, the youngest son of Mr and Mrs A. Goodwin, old residents, was killed in the harvest ’ field on his father’s farm through the stacker boom falling on him, his neck being broken, and death ensuing in 20 minutes. The fatality cute off a promising young life, deceased having been very successful in his last examinations at Auckland University. FALL FROM HAYSTACK. (Peb United Pbess Association.* PALMERSTON ~ Janaary 21. Aeneas Alexander M'Donnell/ a farmer at Rongotea, fell off a haystack at Glen Oroua on Monday. He was taken home and attended by a doctor, who today ordered his removal to the hospital. He died as he was being placed in the ambulance. FATAL FALL DOWN SHIP’S HOLD. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON. January 21. At the inquest on John Harold Tatlow, who fell down the hold of the Turakina on January 16, the coroner said it seemed clear that death was due to misadventure. COUNTY ROADMAN’S DEATH. KILLED BY FALLING STONE. (Peb United Press Association.) GREYMOUTH. January 21. A fatal accident occurred at 4 p.m. near Nelson Creek the victim, John \V right, a county roadman, being struck on the head by a stone which fell ISO feet from the top of a slip on the hillside. ' The deceased, with other workmen, was removing debris from the foot of a slip caused by last year’s earthquake. His mate saw the stone coming and shouted to Wright to look out, but unfortunately he jumped right into its line of descent. He was rendered unconscious and on his removal to the Grey Hospital he expired at 8 p.m. from the effects of a fractured skull. The deceased, a single man. 52 years of age, had no relatives in the Dominion.
