M. DAUDET
% . A WELCOME HOME. TERM OF EXILE ENDED. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) PARIS, January 3. M. Leon Daudet has returned. Ho held a reception at the office of the newspaper Action Franeaise, which was crowded. STILL AGGRESSIVE. • LONDON, January 4. (Received Jan, 5, at 5.5 p.m.) The Times correspondent at Paris states that M. Daudet has lost no time In defining in his paper, L’Action Fran cnise, his future attitude. He says: “ I shall struggle more stoutly than ever. I find no grounds for gratitude towards the Government for terminating a scandalcud iniquity by ending my 29 months’ exile. My decision remains unchanged to ssek the punishment of the police who murdered my son. I will hound down the servjle criminal magistrates who rendered an unjust verdict, and as for M. Barthou and M. Poincare—we shall see.” In June, 1027, M. Daudet was exiled to Belgium for three years for criminal libel. Towards the end of last month the Government granted him an amnesty, and he returned to France in time to spend the new year festivities at his Paris home.
