December 10. ■„ A s kbur J f h " Cur i is > Arthur Southwell Curtis, and Una Curtis petitioned the Crown for compensation as the result of a collision between; a .motor car and an unlighted train moving across a'siding on the Hutt road from the Gear Meat Company s’ premises. In his reserved judgment Air E. Page, S.M., found that there , was negligence on the, part of the Railways Department and awarded £73 16s damages. He said he was satisfied that.as the car approached there was mo adequate light on the train.
