Dee-ember 20. 1929. ! When a baby was born at The Paddocks.. Crews Hill, near Enfield, England, an interesting problem arose. In which , parish was the baby born? The registrars of the three districts of Nortbaw, I Cheshunt. and Enfield had to decide the matter. The house stands in two counties. Middlesex and Hertfordshire, and the boundaries of the three parishes named above run through it. Before the birth of the baby could be registered a visit to the house by the registrars concerned was necessary. It was found, after several maps had been consulted, that the room in which the baby was born was in the Shesbunt -parish. * The Paddocks. whicli is an old house dating from the days of the Commonwealth, has recently been restored. The owner has to pay rates on parts of the house to three authorities. Nearly 60 women are managing housing estates in London.
