DUTY ON WOOL RUGS. A SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, December 11. The Senate decided, by 46 votes to 32, to impose a duty on wool rugs of 18 cents per pound. The House asked for 8 cents. The present rate is 7J cents. The Senate increased the duty on wool shoddy to 24 cents per pound. The House asked for 18 cents, the present rate being 16 cents.
